ULLAPOOL THROUGH A LENS

ULLAPOOL THROUGH A LENS

It is no secret that Ullapool has flawless backdrops for those perfect shots. Whether you are experienced, or an amateur photographer our beautiful rolling hills and magnificent Loch views need no filters but is there more to Ullapool then just the perfect, luxurious views?

We recently sat down with Angela Wylie from Angela Wylie photography to find out her favourite spots to shoot those perfect shots. “There is a feast of magnificent views all around us”

As a photographer, I am really spoilt for options. Not only is Ullapool a breath-taking village to live in but our surrounding areas are only a stone throw away. Each offering its own beauty and a wide variety of wildlife. Some of my favourite spots are places like Lael Forest, Leckmelm Gardens and Knockan Crag with its inspiring local geology.

Ullapool is full of history and I think taking photos of Ullapool now is just as important in order to keep the history going. Ullapool also has magnificent and quaint buildings rich in history and great to photograph.

I have recently been enjoying taking photos of plants in Ullapool’s local gardens. I find local gardens in Ullapool rich in texture, colour and patterns not to mention all the beautiful plant life growing in baskets and repurposed boats around our village.

Sunsets and Northern lights are a must for all photographers, not only to try to get the perfect shots but to also to just sit back and admire. – Angela Wylie

We are incredibly fortunate to not only be situated on the North Coast 500, but we also get to explore this incredible route year-round. We love hearing about our customer’s favourite stops and seeing all their photos from their journey to Ullapool. If you haven’t been on this “Always worth the journey route” we can honestly say you are missing out.

While enjoying our beautiful village make sure to stop by for a bite to eat.
