Easter in Ullapool
What’s on this Easter?
There are so many wonderful things to do this Easter in Ullapool like taking long or short walks around Ullapool situated in the beautiful Scottish Highlands surrounded by riverside and beach walks all within in a few minutes from The Seaforth. The sea front with its magnificent views is wonderful to walk along and watch the boats landing at Ullapool Harbour, the beach out to Rhue Point is a good afternoon or evening stroll and take in the sunset over the Summer Isles or walk the hill behind and look out to Ben Mor Coigach and over Ardmair.
Ullapool is privileged to have such an abundance of Local arts as well as magnificent Gallery’s. See the world from a different perspective by heading along to one of the trendy art galleries in Ullapool. Whether you want to view old masters or modern masterpieces, or even purchase a beautiful painting or sculpture yourself you’ll find plenty here to tempt you.
Just two minutes walk from the Seaforth you will come across An Talla Solais Gallery. An Talla Solais is Ullapool's visual arts centre and our gallery hosts a wide range of exhibitions of contemporary art. Entry is always free and the gallery is open daily during exhibitions from 10am to 5pm. Cabinet, the shop which is separate from us but based in our gallery, sells a range of art, crafts, jewellery and homewares from across Scotland. We also run classes, courses and events and our studios offer spaces and a ceramics facility to artists and groups.
Located 17 minutes from The Seaforth about 12 miles you will find Corrieshalloch Gorge. This mile-long box canyon, through which the River Droma rushes, takes its name from the Gaelic for ‘ugly hollow’. But that’s as far from the truth as can be.
A short steep walk, which is still wheelchair-accessible, will bring you to a Victorian suspension bridge, where you can gaze down over a series of crashing waterfalls cut naturally into a woodland cleft.
The suspension bridge was built by John Fowler, the pioneering engineer responsible for the world’s first underground railway and joint chief engineer on the iconic Forth Railway Bridge.
